Sona Novakova Competes At ITA National Indoor Championships

WEST HAVEN, Conn. - Armstrong Atlantic State sophomore Sona Novakova opens up action in the ITA National Indoor Championships on Thursday at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center at Yale University.
One of only 32 collegiate women's singles players and the only non-Division I player in the field, Novakova will open up action at 1:00 p.m. against Lenka Broosova of Baylor University - Broosova is currently ranked No. 23 in Division I.
Novakova is the third AASU player to qualify for the ITA National Indoor Championships, follwing in the footsteps of Zsofia Golopencza (2003) and Johanna Dahlback (2007). Golopencza won her first match at the Indoors in '03, defeating Clemson's Julie Coin.

Should Novakova win her match on Thursday, she would face the winner of Old Dominion's Nadine Fahoum and fifth-seeded Caitlin Whoriskey of Tennessee on Friday at 10:30 a.m.
