AASU Women's Tennis Match At Nova Southeastern Halted

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The No. 1-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State women's tennis team was able to take a 3-0 lead over No. 21 Nova Southeastern, but rain forced the halting of the match before completion on Sunday morning.

The match will not count towards the overall standings of both teams, but the doubles results will be used for national ranking purposes.

Fourth-ranked Martina Beckmann and Alida Muller-Wehlau defeated No. 20-ranked Ulia Talalenko and Justine Feaster, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles, while No. 11-ranked Gabriella Kovacs and Sona Novakova downed Edita Kulichova and Karolina Porizkova, 8-4. Kathleen Henry and Tina Ronel completed the doubles sweep by defeating Mary Crider and Paige Lindsley, 8-3.

AASU returns to action on Tuesday, March 31, with a 2:00 p.m. match against No. 18 Hawaii Pacific at the AASU Tennis Complex.
