Alida Muller-Wehlau Named PBC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State women's tennis sophomore Alida Muller-Wehlau has been named the Peach Belt Conference's women's tennis Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by league officials.
The No. 8-ranked singles player in NCAA Division II, Muller-Wehlau went 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles for the top-ranked Lady Pirates last week. She dispatched No. 8 (NAIA) Hana Im of Embry-Riddle, 6-0, 6-3, on Friday in singles action, then defeated No. 37 Katie White of Clayton State, 6-1, 6-0, on Saturday and beat No. 42 Roxana Dondera of Columbus State, 6-1, 6-0, on Sunday.
Teaming with Martina Beckmann in doubles, the No. 4-ranked duo picked up a big 8-3 win over the No. 2-ranked duo of Semyrodenko and White of Clayton State on Saturday, avenging a loss to the duo in the ITA Southeast Regional in the fall. The pair also defeated No. 8 (NAIA) Stojkovska and Zoricic, 8-3, of Embry-Riddle and Petschnig and Toumi, 8-2, of Columbus State.
The Flensburg, Germany, native is a perfect 6-0 in singles and 6-0 in doubles in the spring season. Muller-Wehlau and the Lady Pirates are in action on Tuesday afternoon with a PBC match at GCSU in Milledgeville.
