Alex Wyche Earns PBC Preseason All-Conference Baseball Honors

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Senior outfielder Alex Wyche has been named to the 2010 preseason All-Peach Belt Conference squad, released today by league officials.

The Macon, Ga., native is one of three outfielders on the 11-man squad. Wyche led the Pirates and ranked fourth in the PBC with a .398 batting average in 2009, while also leading the Pirates in RBIs with 58 and the conference in triples with seven.

A transfer from Abraham Baldwin who joined the Pirates last season, Wyche earned ABCA All-Southeast Region honors, as well as NCBWA and Daktronics/CoSIDA All-Region honors for AASU as a junior.

Wyche and the Pirates open up the 2010 season on Friday, February 5, hosting Salem International at 2:00 p.m. at Pirate Field.
